How long does the procedure for getting braces take?

im 12 and im going to the orthadonist on monday, my mom told me that im not getting braces right then, but how much longer do i have to wait!
Answer:
the cosmetologist was partially right.
first appointment records including xrays, molds intra oral picturessecond appointment consult with patient and parents to discuss treatment options, costs etcthird appointment might include {depending on your bite separating elastics or they might put on the posterior bands depends on the orthodontist next appointment the brackets and initial wire are placed They don't have to make or order anything..You will have to wear them anywhere form 18 months to three years..also dependent on your bite
and invisolign as she suggested are not always faster and usually not appropriate for people your age as patient compliance is a major factor
By the main question, it seems like you meen the actual putting them on. By the details you make it sound like you mean how long does it take to make braces...so I will answer both questions. To get them put on: 1-2 (slightly painful) hours (only because you have a huge thing in your mouth to keep it dry and open and it hurts)To make them: After impresions...only a week or 2.
The dentist will first make molds of your teeth and it will take a couple of weeks before they get them back from the lab. They then order the braces which take another week or two. . The new invisalign braces take much less time.
