How does Novocaine numb your mouth.?

I was just wondering.
Answer:
Novocaine blocks sodium channels in your neurons, which prevents them from "firing" and sending a pain signal.
It hopefully doesn't anymore. It has been replaced by Liodocaine.
the chemical make up of it and the muscles and all of that. you'd probably get the best information my typing it into yahoo search.. might be a lot of reading but very interesting
The medicine deadens the nerve endings temporarily.
