How much does it cost for dentist's oral cancer check up?
Answer:
Oral cancer screening is done as part of your regular checkup/cleaning. No additional charge for that on top of what you already pay for the checkup/cleaning/x-rays.If a dentist does find a suspicious lesion during the screening, then you might have to pay for further diagnostics procedures, such as a biopsy.Contrary to what the above poster thinks, a family physician cannot fully diagnose oral cancers like a dentist can. Certain oral lesions are visible only on dental X-rays, and to my knowledge there are no family physicians who take dental X-rays as part of a standard physical exam.Hope this helps.
if you have it... you better go; no matter how much it cost. ask them for financing methods.
Your family doctor can do it. No need to see a dentist.
