How much does a dentist usually charge for a root canal?

I am on a very tight budget and my dental coverage from work does not cover this, also I have medicare but I do not know if they would cover this either!
Answer:
it is usually over 1000 dollars and then if you need a crown that could be another 1000. Needless to say it is very expensive.
Sorry to tell you this, but it's about a thousand dollars.
In the US, its $950 to 1100. Some dentists give senior citizens a 10% discount.
If you go to a specialist (endodontist) it will be over $1000 for a molar. (Front teeth are slightly less because they have only one or two canals, compared to a molar with three or even four.)Some general dentists do root canals instead of referring out to specialists. If they do many of them, they can get good at the procedure. Find a general dentist who is a member of the Acadamy of General Dentistry. This means he or she takes manay additional hours of training in all dental specialties and has to keep up their skills.Having the root canal at a general dentist could save hundreds of dollars.
depends on how many roots i would say 1 root $600 2 roots $750 and 3 or 4 roots $900
I just had one and it was $921 for the root canal and another $1000 for the crown. my suggestion is look into get some kind of dental ins.
You can save about 40%-60% on your root canal if you get this Dental Plan. The good news is that you can sign up on line and get your membership ID immediately. You can use the Benefit also right away. The only thing that I would encourage you to do is to check on the dentists in your area by going to 'Provider Search'. You can call them for verification before you apply for the membership.http://mybenefitsplus.com/wpaul...Good luck. Please Email me for any clarification.
