How long do antibiotics effectiveness last if placed on a shelf for a year.?
Answer:
They should be thrown 2 months later the date they were given.
I don't know if you were/are aware that when a Dr. prescribes antibiotics, you are supposed to take all of them and not have any leftover. When you don't complete the prescription, you run the risk of developing a secondary infection that will actually be more difficult to treat. As far as effectiveness and shelf life, medications have an expiration date printed on the package/bottle.
