Answer:
between 6 and 8.1. In the AM.
2. After I eat Breakfast
3. After I eat Lunch
4. After Dinner
5. Before Bed
6. If I smoke, Afterward
usually 2, but sometimes ill brush em before goin out also. so sumtimes 3.
Are you taking a survey?
2. once in the morning and once before bed.
none!!! once a week if i can be bothered!!
Twice. No Braces. I floss once.
I brush mine 2 to 3 time a day. I don't want bad breath or that filmy feeling on my teeth. It is better to be clean than dirty.
I brush my teeth 6 times a day because I like to have nice teeth not rotten bread filled teeth!
In the Morning, after every meal and before bed.
After every meal, and I floss once a day or more if I've had food that sticks between teeth.
haha i like feeling clean too. i have braces so i should brush them like 3x i usually brush 2wice tho.:]
well once.but after reading your question I'm going to do it alot more thank you

Twice a day
1. when i wake up
2.after breakfast
3.after lunch
4.after dinner
5.before bed5x.
twice a day =)
If you have braces it is best to brush after every meal or at least 3 times daily.
I brush my teeth after eating breakfast and always after dinner before bed. But I also brush my teeth before I leave the house to go anywhere. So usually 3 or more times daily I brush.

How many times a day do you brush your teeth?
Answer:
After every meal using a soft bristle brush. I then floss and use a mouthwash...this was recommended to me by my dentist and so far my check ups have been stellar.
2 times a day (always). Might brush an additional time if I had eatten something extra offensive.
2
i brush them 3 times a day (morning afternoon and night)
Maybe once a day
about 2-3 times a day and yourself?
Between 2-4 times a day and I floss too.
I brush twice per day and use Listerine each time.
once im too lazy to do it more than that. plus, i think three times is too much for your teeth enamel. you need to give your teeth a break.
3 times when i have time.
2-3 times a day, and then I try to floss my fangs too.
I brush two times a day at least and floss once. I always hated flossing but now I just get the flossers. (floss on a stick)
That way you can use it anytime, like when you watch tv, even
when you drive, cause you only need one hand, just don't answer you cell phone at the same time.
2 to 3
4 or 5, sometimes 6.
after every meal, and snack, and I like snacking, my friends think I am a fruitcake, but my teeth are white.
2 times a day with colgate toothpaste and a soft bristle toothbrush
2-3 times a day or after every meal espeacially if u have dentures
At least 2 times a day. After meals too. But sometimes I'm out and can't do that.
Twice - when I get up and when I go to bed.
2 times, i would brush in the afternoon for 3, but then my lunch would taste like toothpaste. lol
How many teeth does a 14 year old drop?
How many teeth should a 14 year old drop? She's dropped only 12 teeth so far..
Answer:
She should have about 28 teeth at this point. Take a look at these tooth eruption charts and this should help answer your question. Please know that all kids are different and some lose teeth early while others hold onto them much longer. If you are still concerned ask your dentist or hygienist at her regular cleaning appointment.

Should have dropped all the baby teeth by now
The answer just can't be generalised. ...It does not mean that if you are 14, you must have dropped only a specific number of teeth. Even 12 is no bad, she's growing up, give a couple of more years to her. Some drop all their baby teeth but not all. Thanks %26 Regards,

How many teeth did you need pulled for braces?
I havent had my consultation yet but I will soon. I was told I would need 4 removed, but I wouldnt be surprised if I have to get my wisdom teeth taken out as well. I was just wondering if my procedure will be the same as anybody elses.
Answer:
Having teeth extracted for orthodontics is based on each individual's case. Some people don't have enough room due to overcrowding or a narrow jaw, or an over-jet. In some cases those problems can be solved with palatal expanders or headgear, and yet even still, there are some that still may need to have teeth extracted. Having your 1st bicuspid taken out is a common occurrence, just make sure all other options are exhausted first. Ask lots of questions and ask for all the options to be explained and your role in how to fix them, meaning: if you have to have a headgear how long will I have to wear it, how many months, how many hours per day, and what will happen if I don't wear it.etc. I have seen some Orthodontist recommend extractions that end up making the patient's mouth look sunk in because other treatment plans were not complied with by the patient. If you have ANY doubt get a second opinion and compare notes.
Wisdom teeth.a lot of people need them out not only because of crowding but because they come in sideways and push against the adjacent teeth causing cavities and all sorts of problems. Wisdom teeth issues doesn't need to be addressed until your dentist has a better idea of their position and even if you will have all 4 of them.
Your best bet is to have your dentist monitor the wisdom teeth periodically and he can diagnosis if they will become a problem in your future. Good luck! :o)
My daughter didn't have any teeth removed
None, the orthodontist just attaches the braces on. Unless, you have a cavity, they will have to clean that first, but they won't remove it.
Somebody, yes. It is because the teeth is against with other teeth, so it has to be removed to be looking good.
5.. 4 adult and 1 baby! it's not that bad!
When i was a teenager i had to get 4 teeth removed now i am 21 and i need fixed braces and i dont need any teeth removed.
The 4 wisdom teeth are usually removed. It depends on their placement in the jaw. I had mine done 1 at a time. Sometimes they can take them all out at once, but it's usually a hospital procedure. See if that's possible and the difference in price.
I had to have 4 removed before braces. Because there wasn't enough room. Then when I got older, the 4 wisdom teeth. =)
4 removed for my braces.
I had 4 removed. They were the 5th teeth back from the front. When my wisdom teeth came in years later, they crowed my mouth and my teeth became a bit crooked again. THEN, my wisdom teeth fell apart from the pressure from the crowding. I recently had them removed too.

How many plastic surgeons are in the united states?
Answer:
According to this about 5,000. However the study was done several years ago and doesn't include surgeons with less than 2 years out of rez, so I'd imagine the real number is closer to 5,500 today. It's a medical specialty with one of the lowest per capita ratios for sure, probably behind only dermatology and neurosurg.EDIT: sorry, just realized I didn't paste the link for the survey I referred to. If you're interested google plastic surgery and you should find the stats no prob.
How many minutes does it take for teeth to shift if you dont wear your retainers?
Im wearing retainers right now and i was just wondering approximately how many minutes it would take for teeth to shift just incase i dont wear them in the day time.
Answer:
I really don't think you have to worry about it too much. When you put the retainer on after after a day, you'll feel how tight the retainer feels. If the retainer feels the same , I imagine they didn't move much. Anyway, the idea is for them to sort of cement themselves in one position. But if there is room for the teeth to shift, they will ,without the support of the retainer. I wore a retainer deligently in my late 20's. Now, 30 years later, my teeth in front, have a space, something I never had before. My teeth moved, because there was a lot of room to move! But they are still straight.
I never wore my retainers, and my upper teeth never shifted. The lower ones did, but only when my wisdom teeth came in crooked.
It's not quick, but if you stop wearing them altogether as I did, they will shift back and it will be annoying in some way. I think it will be OK if you just wear it at night, but don't stop wearing them. I regret doing that and it's awfully expensive to fix it.
it will take a few days for your retainers to move your teeth to a position where they cannot be moved back to the correct position. You will find that if you leave your retainers out for a day or so they will be tight to put back in this is because your teeth have moved, within an hour or so the will no longer be tight as they teeth move back from the pressure casued by the retainers. It is not advised to leave them out on a regular basis. Make sure you wear them the exact times your orthodontist has specified
well it wouldn't shift im minutes but they would shift back to the way they were before you got your braces.
i dont think it can happen in minutes. i wear my retainer not even twice a week and my teeth never move. it all depends on the person.

How many days should a root canal hurt after.?
I got it done on Tuesday. It hurt so much that it woke me up this morning. I've never had one before so I'm not sure if it should hurt for a few days tough.
Answer:
No, it shouldn't really hurt at this point. You might want to check in with your dentist and have it checked out. During Root Canels, the nerve and pulp is completely removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned out. Tooth is actually dead after RC and without the nerve, you shouldn't feel it at all.
I'd call your dentist and make sure everything went well.
I'm sure it did but it never hurts to double check. You may find out what the source is, may even be a different tooth adjacent the RC site. Good luck and I hope you feel better!
A root canal, if completed should not hurt once done. You may still have an infecting. Did the dentist give you any antibiotics? if YES- keep taking them, if NO- ask him/her why not. Please call your Dentist 1st chance you get. Having a root canal means saving the tooth...but the tooth has no life..it's dead.
maybe a day
After 8 hrs., I didn' feel any discomfort. However, some people have a lower thresh hold for pain. Don't confuse sensitivity with pain. Also, a lot depends on the dentist.

How many cavities do you have or have had filled?
Answer:
No Teeth, No Cavities. But a great smile though.
most of my mouth and I'm going to start saving for dentures if this keeps up lol
i have 6...i have eaten a lot of junk food and candy and my sis eats way less than me and she ended up having 8 cavities.i was the lucky one out of us both.
None
I had all my teeth pulled out for dentures when I was almost 15, but before that I had a lot of cavities. It's been over 10 years since I had them out and no cavities still. I never been sorry I decided to just get them all pulled out instead of going back all the time to get something fixed. No teeth =no teeth problems.
I have fillings in almost all of my molars, some of them even have more than one filling in them. Because I didn't go to the dentist for 10 years, and then when I finally went I had cavities all over the place, I needed a root canal in one tooth as well which wasn't fun at all.
How many appointments till braces?
Im getting braces soon but im not sure when. i have already had a consultation molds and x-rays done spacers and i currently have medal bands around my back molars. my next appointment is on june 5th.Im pretty anxcious to get them cause i have a ig gap in my front top teeth so what do you think they are gonna do on my appointment? please answer soon and add deatails thanx in advance!
Answer:
for me...after I got my spacers it was a month -a month and a half.. exciting proces of getting your teeth straight!
yes your next one is getting braces.. I had to go threw that.. and I was really stupid and took mine of after 2 weeks I regret it.. but good luck.. doesn't hurt.. just the braces on
Sounds like your next appointment is when you get them. GOOD LUCK your mouth is going to look great after, its definitely worth it even though it is a hassle to properly clean it.
Once you have your spacers put on your back molars, they give it about a month, then go ahead and put them on. Congrats on being to way of a beautiful healthy smile. I had braces for two years. It was so worth it. I still spend a crap load of money on my teeth, but it is worth the pay off. I have bright pearly whites and straight teeth. I get compliments all the time. Braces are not that bad. You have a little pain, get some sores on your checks, but that is all minor compared to what they do for you. Good luck! Take lots of pictures. Braces can be fun it you make them that way!
You should get them soon. I have braces, I don't like them but I need them. I got a expander, then spacers, then metal bands, then braces, THEN retainers, but then they said I needed braces again, Grrrr... It doesn't end! You're next appointment should involve braces.
OK, when I got my braces on they didn't have so many appointments before I got them on. I got the molds, x- rays and a consultation in like around a month. The office has to make sure the people can pay for it and see if insuruance will cover part of it and they need to take the mold of your mouth and the x-rays and then they have to fit you into the hectic office to get your braces on. They might put something on the top of your mouth. And if you already have something on the top of your mouth they may tighten that thing. Or they could just be waiting for money or for you teeth to move a little more. It all depends but you should be getting them on soon. I highly doubt you will be getting your braces on this next time you go because if you were the office or your orthodontist would tell you and trust me you do not want braces when you get them on they hurt for like a week to two weeks and no one believes you that they hurt that long and then when you finally get used to them you have to go in and get them tightened and that hurts for like 3 to 6 days. It is super annoying but good luck!!!!
I just got my braces on 2wks ago. I had spaces for a week. So it shouldn't be very long.

How loose does my adult tooth have to be before I get concerned?
I am 40 years old and I was hit in the mouth with a baseball. My tooth is slightly loose, and I wondered if loose adult teeth generally heal them selves.
Answer:
If it barely moves, you'll be fine in a couple of weeks. See your dentist anyway to find-out for sure.If it moves freely, see your dentist immediately. He *may* be able to save the tooth. In the absolute worst scenario, the tooth has been fractured, and the "live" part of the tooth may or may not have been damaged. In any case, you will likely end-up with a cap.In the absolutely best case, you've suffered no more than a glancing blow that will heal in a few weeks. In this case, the bruise to the face, fat lip, and the eating funny for a couple of days are the worst of it.
Get to a dentist immediately or you will lose the tooth.
See a dentist. Even if it does heal itself it may very well heal wonky, possibly enough to pressure other teeth. You probably shouldn't have left it.
go see a Dentist to be sureI was in a car accident causing 2 loose teeth
I had to wear a retainer for a few months to make sure they bonded to the socket again
I would go to the dentist to correct it as soon as possible if you loose it its gone for good is it worth taking that chance?

How long would it take to be able to take my lip ring out? how long can I leave it out for?
I'm getting my lip ring done in August (07) but i'm going to Africa in 2 weeks in december '07 to january 08, i'll be doing AIDS work so I cannot have any facial piercings except for the ears. How long do I have to have my Lip ring in in order to take it out for 2 week without it closing up?? thanks so much guys:)
-hollyy%26lt;3
Answer:
If your only getting your lip pierced in August then it will probably close in those two weeks. It can take up to 1-2 years before you will be able to remove the jewelry for periods longer than a day at a time. Even then you might not be able to take it out for very long. Since you can't have any facial piercings you might want to buy some retainers to wear in place of the piercing. They will hide the piercing but also keep the hole open without it closing.
To take it out for that long it will need to be healed for at least a year or more, even then it would be iffy. Lip piercings (and any oral piercing for that matter) tend to close up very quickly. Would you be able to wear a clear retainer to hide it? They're almost invisible and available at your piercing studio for around $10. You can change the jewelry around the 10-12 week mark. If a retainer isn't an option, I would suggest waiting until you come back to have it done.

How long will my mouth hurt after i get my braces on?
I get them on tomarrow (June, 8)
Answer:
the third day is the worst.
after that its not really that bad
10 yrs
until you get them off
They won't hurt right after but maybe the next day or a couple hours later after you get them on, they will hurt. It depends how long they'll hurt. Maybe three days tops. Just take motrin and it will make you feel a bit better.
about a week. or two. depending on how tight the orthodontist makes them.
and every time they tighten them, its gonna hurt for a day or two.
2 weeks tops. Just avoid sweets and such, and it won't hurt that much.
depends on what you do with your mouth
For about four days, but then every time you get them tightened it hurts again for about four days
my sis has braces and she got used to them after 2 weeks it mght take longer or shorter u never know?
kelsey q.
within a week
No dont worry! dont listen to the people below! I got them and they only hurt for lyk 1 day and then i got used to them. dont worry at all its not that bad! people just like to make it sound worse than it really is!
Untill you get them off, but you will get used to it.
They are going to hurt like hell the day after. Then give it from 3 days to a week to go away. Take some tylenol or aspirin
When I had my braces, the only time I experienced pain was when I would get them tightened every month. You shouldnt experience excruciating pain, perhaps a little discomfort, and nothing a little bit of orajel cant handle.
general rule of thumb will be 3-5 days. maybe as long as a week since youre just getting them. depends on how tight of a bracket your ortho decides to put on you. it will only be severe, hindering you from eating for the first 2-3 days, and a dull pain there after. then youll have to get your brackets replaced with tighter ones once a month, in which you will not be able to eat hard foods for about a day or two, and then youll be fine. this repeats every month until you have a beautiful smile. =]
for about two weeks then it will start to feel normal. but every time you get an adjustment which is about every 2-3 months they will hurt again for about a day or two. Good luck. They suck but its worth if for a nice smile. just keep them clean and say goodbye to the inside of your jaws. Braces always scratch the inside so get some wax from yoor dentist. that helps.
When i got braces they hurt for the first week and all i ate was pudding. Then every time igot them tightened it hurt for another week. But this is because i have really sensitive teeth. About an hour before you get them take Advil or and form of Ibuprofen so once you get your braces the pain wont arrive. Take Ibuprofen every 4 hours and you should experience a lot less pain.%26lt;3 Erica
It will hurt for a couple weeks. It is not that bad though. Most of my pain was the next couple days. Then I was just tender. You are doing a great thing. It will be well worth it. I would do it all over again if I had to. They will hurt throughout having them, but the pain gets less and less and is very tolerable. Don't worry. I am not going to lie and say it does not hurt because it does. At the same time, everyone has a different threshold of pain. Braces are fun I think. Make sure you take a lot of pictures the next couple years and throughout because you can track your progress. It is fun to look back at them all. Congrats to being on your way to beautiful set of teeth and a wonderful smile!Good luck tomorrow!!
depending on how long you wear your braces! I wore braces for two years and braces gave my mouth canker soars. Just keep your teeth clean and gargle with disinfectant mouth wash
it will hurt for about a week then you can start eating hard foods again. every time they tighten them it hurts for a day or two also.
It really does depend. Your teeth will hurt for about a month, and then every time they are adjusted. The cut, oh those are another story. These hurt, and probably won't go away.Tell your orthodontist to clip the wire at the back. My wire went THROUGH my cheek.
Well it wont hurt much at first. Then about 3-4 hours after you get them it will hurt so be sure to take some tylenol or something after you get them. The pain should only last 1-3 days. Don't worry it will get better! When you go to get them tightened it wont hurt nearly as bad.
Good Luck!
It鈥檚 been a long time since I had braces. You feel it for a few days to a week when they go on and every time they tighten them.More important though is the kind of pain it is. It鈥檚 not that bad, the tips of your teeth are very sensitive, that's the worst part. But overall it鈥檚 just a dull pain not very sharp or annoying. As I think back on it now I remember it as almost a comforting kind of pain. I鈥檓 much older now and have experienced pain that is so much more severe, I remember my braces pain nostalgically.I wish you a beautiful (strait) smile.
A week, at most. Gets better as time goes on, trust me.
Answer:
the third day is the worst.
after that its not really that bad
10 yrs
until you get them off
They won't hurt right after but maybe the next day or a couple hours later after you get them on, they will hurt.

How long will it take for the infection/swelling to go down?
Saturday night, I got swelling in the roof of my mouth. Tuesday, I went to the dentist. He gave me amoxacillin. I have been taking it as prescribed. I think I keep irritating the swelling because my tongue is always touching it. When will the swelling go down? I can't eat alot of stuff. (That's important because I'm 38 weeks pregnant).
Answer:
Perhaps the amoxacillin is not the antibiotic that you need for the problem. . . Call the dentist (and your OB-GYN) you need to be cautious.Good luck
I'd go to a dif dentist...

How long will it take for my tongue swelling to go down ? i got it done sat?
Answer:
It took mine exactly two weeks to go down and be free of soreness. My advise is to avoid alcohol, if you're drinking age, and rinse your mouth with a hydrogen peroxide solution instead of mouthwash for a few days. That really helped me a lot. Just stick it out and it'll get better before you know it. This is your chance to have all the Popsicles you want!
The swelling should have gone down the same day, try sucking on ice, the ice will bring the swelling down.If it doesn't get to the Doctor, something is wrong!
How long will i have to have my braces on, and how much will they be?
okay.well.
my bottom five teeth, [every one BUT the molars] are like doors. they go the opposite way on each one. like this:
%26#92;/%26#92;/%26#92;/%26#92;/%26#92;
but, not that dramatic.
plus, i have a tad bit of overbite, and i think i have like left or right bit. my jaw feels all crooked, like my top part is more to the right then the bottom,. but when i look in the mirror it looks normal.my dad said that i may need to have teeth pulled because there may not be room for the straightening too.
so do you know how much it will cost, or how long i will have them on?
Answer:
depends on how bad they are on how long u will have them on and the price they will be.cause lets say u need them for 2 years old and have to go in once a month they have to add each visit into the cost.i had them for 2 and half years 4 teeth pulled to make room to have them move where they should be overall they still look nice..the little bit of pain u will feel is so worth it in the long run.i love the way my teeth look now good luck.3,500. but this was but i cant remeber if there was insurance or not...15 years years ago
It depends on how your teeth are some times they are on for like 2 years or maybe even shorter. They might cost around 1,000. I not really sure but it is in that price range
Braces are expensive unless you have some kind of insurance that will at least cover part of it. I can't really give you a definitive length of time because every ones different. I had braces for 9 months and my friend had them for 4 1/2 years it all depends. Good Luck.
atleast 2 years or less. i had mine on 4 1 year nd bout 9 months.nd mine cost bout 3000
how crooked are your teeth and how much money do you want to spend?
well it depends on the insurance you have it can knock some dollars off but the price range should be around 2,000-4,500. And it just depends on how bad your teeth are and what the doctor says. Most people have them two years if they do things right. Like me I plan to do things RIGHT.

How long will I have braces on for?
My situation is: I got a jaw surgery so my expander could work correctly since I hit puberty years ago and all. I got my clear bracket braces put on the bottem teeth 4 months before the surgery and i got my top clear bracket braces on 3 months after the surgery. They told me it takes 2 years to get clear bracket braces to work correctly for my situation, but im wondering if that means 2 years from the date the expander got put on or 2 years from the date that the braces actually got put on my teeth.
I also want to know if they will take my bottom braces off before my top ones since they put on 6 months before them.
Answer:
Usually 2 years since they put the braces on and they will probably remove them all at the same time. They have to leave them on a little longer once they get your teeth into place so the bone can begin to reset so your teeth don't just move like crazy after they remove the braces.

How long will 4 crowns and 2 fillings take??
I have to get 4 temporary crowns and two fillings tomorrow... how long, approximately, will this take? thanks!
Answer:
Usually 2 fillings, if they are on the same side of the mouth will take about 1 hour - if you have an experience dentist. Crowns usually take about 1 - 1 1/2 hours for prep %26 cementing temporary of just one - if they are next to each other - maybe add 1/2 hour for each.
I thought you were talking about English Money! Sorry I have no idea.!
a freakin lot. I think my sis got charged a couple of hudred for her 1 crown.
from past experience I would guess about 3 hours mimimun
i would say about 3 to 4 hours.

How long until my mouth gets better after a tooth extraction?
i had a back tooth out 13 days ago + 5 fillings. but the pain is still really bad. at the time the swelling on that side of my face was quite bad, that has gone down now but my face still hurts to the touch and it is sore especially when i eat. i'm still taking painkillers regularly but i feel like i've been taking them for too long!! when will it get better? is this normal or could it be infected?
Answer:
I would be worried if it was still bothering me after nearly two weeks when I had one out I don't remember it bothering me beyond 2-3 days but they were both baby teeth in my case
If it was a molar then it seems more likely that pain would be prolongedIf you were prescribed painkillers for this long then fine otherwise I would phone up the dentists surgery just to inquire and maybe get an appointment depending on what they said
Soon.
Sounds infected to me. Go back to the dentist and they can prescribe antibiotics, take them for about 5 days and you will be fine.
Must have been a bit of an extraction.Usually nearly healed in 7 days.My dentist usually puts me on a weeks course of anti biotic after an extraction so as to avoid infection. If no better go backin the next couple of days.. Else you will have to wait till after the week end.
just take pain killers it worked for me
try rinsing your mouth with some warm water and salt, it tastes nasty but you'll feel better. Also the pain should go away in a couple of days, if it hurts when u bite down i'd urge you to go see your dentist. Sometimes the dentist has trouble finding the right high for the filling and that will cause you pain when u bite. If thats the problem all he has to do is shave the filling down a bit and it will make a world of a difference.I hope u feel better, take care and get some rest. I hope he used white fillings on you, because metal fillings are bad. If you'd like you can add me as a friend http://www.myspace.com/lubbylues.
If after the extraction you ethier, drank alchohol, rinsed out you mouth, smoked or spat out then it could be infected
The same happened to me last Xmas, I was in agony, so I feel for you !My advice, go straight back to dentist asap, I did and they told me I had an infection... it was nothing I did.. just one of those things unfortunately.
I waited 3 weeks and ended up with blood poisioning, so best to get it checked out.Is is still bleeding at all? If so, go now!The dentist gave me a prescription mouthwash to use also, that helped kill the infection and my pain went within a few days.Hope you are better soon

How Long Until I can Start Smoking After Wisdom Teeth Pulled?
I had my wisdom teeth pulled on the 10th of May. All 4, 2 surgically and 2 pulled. I don't want to ask my dentist due to him telling my parents I smoke, mind you I'm only 16. I was just curious on how long I should wait before smoking again. I only smoke about a pack a week, usually lasting me around 8-10 days for 1 pack. Please no well you shouldn't be smoking at 16 please. I just want to know how long it should be before I smoke in risk of dry sockets. I waited a week before working out.
Answer:
Rinsing with warm salt water, does help with infection, but the reason you are told not to smoke after an extraction, is because of the suction. The same reason they tell you not to drink from a straw. Dry sockets are caused by the suction created in your mouth when sucking in. When you do this you run the risk of basically sucking the blood clot from the extraction site, which leaves the bone exposed, which is what causes the pain. Most Dr.s recommend 3 days/72 hours. If you had them extracted on the 10th, you should be fine, as long as you are not experiencing any pain or bleeding.
Recommended is 72 hours/3 days.
my advise 2 u
STOP SMOKING
Uhh.. you should stop smoking. That is nasty and no respectable woman wants a man who smokes. You should use this as an opportunity to QUIT!
just quit before you becomne addicted, it doesn't make you looke cool dodo

IF U WERE THAT CURIOUS MIGHT AS WELL SMOKE COC THAN HUH?!!!?
IF U WANT TO DIE NOW, DONT EVEN BOTHER ASKING AGAIN!!!ok im calm now

for the gums to fully recover and is strong
1 week to 10 days. after that, you might as well quit
if you are rinsing with warm salt water id say now.when i got mine out after i was done with meds i smoked.just make sure to rinse after dont want a dry socket!!
here's your chance to stop smoking.

How long till you see results on braces?
I've had my braces on for 4 months. I see a little bit of the results.how long did it take you to see that they were working?
Answer:
it depends i guess. for me it took maybe 2 weeks but then my teeth were really messed up. ive had them for a year and about to get them off and they're almost perfect
I wore them for 2 years, but it depends on how crooked your teeth are. Hang in there though, it's worth the social humiliation, when you are older, you will appreciate that you had them.
2 years
it depends on how seroious of a problem you have, but about 2 years
it depends it took me around a year and a half for my FIRST set of braces and now i have my second set on though my teeth were not that crooked so it depends on how big of a problem you have

How long should a blood clot last after tooth extraction?
Hi! I had a tooth extraction 8 days ago and now, my blood clot may be gone... I'm not sure because I can't see very well into the extraction site. I don't really feel pain or anything though.I'm just wondering how long a blood clot generally needs to last after a tooth extraction. Any help would be really appreciated.
Answer:
the blood clot is the foundation for healing. Healing involves formation of bone in the former site of the tooth. So there isn't an exact timeframe of how long a blood clot should stay in a post-operative extraction site.I'm just wondering though...8 days and it's still open? Do you have any systemic issues? (bleeding disorders, hypertension, diabetes) I think you might want to consult with the dentist that extracted your tooth.
You may want to ask your doctor that question. The blood clot usually forms the next layer of skin. You may not feel pain now but have you had anything cold or hot to drink lately?
Ive never heard of that, Ive always heard blood clots are bad news, you don't want them, I would check with your dentist.

How long is dental school? ( dentist or MD's)?
i would love to go, but i have a 1 year old, im pregnant and i have my husband, he is willing to do anything for me but i want to know if people will think its to much for me to handle or no.
Answer:
To get into dental school, one needs to have completed pre-dental courses in undergraduate college and taken the DAT examination. All dental schools in the U.S. are 4-year programs, except the University of the Pacific in San Francisco-- theirs is a 3-year program. The post-grad specialty training programs after dental school vary in length. Periodontics can be 3 years, some as long as 6 years like the one at Rochester. Oral surgery can be 4 or 6 years, depending on whether or not the program grants an MD degree. Orthodontics are usually 3 years, most Endodontics are 2 years, etc.Hope this helps.
8 years i believe
8 years more if you want to specialize
Dental school is always 4 years, or longer. The first 2 years are predominantly academic with the second 2 being the clinical time. It is a serious time commitment and your husband would have to be prepared to be alone alot. It can be done if you have the right support mechanisms.
Ask your dentist.
Dental School is a real time commitment. I am a hygienist but I have friends who went or just finished dental school. You need to get your pre-reqs. like biology, chemistry, etc done. They would like to see you have a bachelors degree completed. Then take the DATS exam, interviews, etc...get into a University and spend 4 years in dental school.
If you are committed and your husband is supporting you and willing to help you through this ...go for it.
Four years of undergrad, followed by four years of dental or medical school. To specialize in dentistry, such as an oral surgeon, or periodontist, you have to have an additional two years of specialty school. Only you can answer whether or not it will be too much to handle. I started taking my pre-req's for hygiene school at night when my son was two. I then attended hygiene school full-time when he was three. It was hard, however I was determined, and I graduated with honors. I also have a very supportive husband who stood behind my decision to continue my education. This helped a lot, to know that he was there giving his support to help me acheive my dreams. He also holds a masters in chemistry (analytical chemist ) so he helped me get an A in biochemistry. With the support that you seem to have, I say go for it. However do a lot of research first, find out what area of dentistry or medical you would like to practice. Will you be able to handle working on bodies in Gross anatomy? You have to have this course for both dental school and med school. Will you and your marriage and son be able to handle thirty-six hour shifts when you are interning as a doctor? My husband took the M-CAT when he thought that we wanted to be a doctor. He did well, however after really giving it a lot of thought, he did not feel like he wanted to be away from his family that much. He loved us more. He does not regret it at all, and is glad that he chose not to enter the medical profession. We have a friend who is a neuro-surgeon. She loves her job, but she will be the first to tell you that at times she did not feel like she could handle all of the stress associated with medical school. It is a all consuming task. Dental school is also tough. Do some research and find out what field really interests you. Good luck with your decision.
In dentist school you take up to four years, after passing the DAT, when passing dental school you then become a general dentist, then add a extra 3 years to specilize to be a (Orthodontist, Endodontist, Prosthodontist and etc.) basically 7 to 8 years if want to specilize.
As a dentist (DMD) I can tell you that dental school itself is an extra fours years of college once you receive your bachelors degree. If you have never attended college this means 8 years of total school, first fours years as a pre-dental student, then four years in dental school. I recommend that you major in either Biology or Chemistry as your Pre-Dental bachelors degree as this will help you be better prepared for dental admissions test (DAT). Below is a website with very useful information for anyone interested in a career in dentistry. Hope this helps and good luck in your future. www.ada.org

Hope this helps and good luck in your future. www.ada.org

How long for stitches?
Do stitches in your mouth normally come out within 5-7 days?
Answer:
yes.the mouth usually heals faster; 7 day is the average time length for stitches to be removedYou may have the ones that dissolve automatically
it depends on how deep the cut was =ask the dentist
Usually they put in stitches that are absorbed within a week. If they are the kind that need pulling, the same timetable applies.
I know when I had my wisdom teeth removed (cut out b/c still hadnt come in) the sutures/stitches took like 6 days before they started falling out.Didnt hurt or nothing, though be careful when eating, unless you dont care if you swallow them. (Dont think they'd hurt ya any)

How long does the procedure for getting braces take?
im 12 and im going to the orthadonist on monday, my mom told me that im not getting braces right then, but how much longer do i have to wait!
Answer:
the cosmetologist was partially right.
first appointment records including xrays, molds intra oral picturessecond appointment consult with patient and parents to discuss treatment options, costs etcthird appointment might include {depending on your bite separating elastics or they might put on the posterior bands depends on the orthodontist next appointment the brackets and initial wire are placed They don't have to make or order anything..You will have to wear them anywhere form 18 months to three years..also dependent on your bite
and invisolign as she suggested are not always faster and usually not appropriate for people your age as patient compliance is a major factor
By the main question, it seems like you meen the actual putting them on. By the details you make it sound like you mean how long does it take to make braces...so I will answer both questions. To get them put on: 1-2 (slightly painful) hours (only because you have a huge thing in your mouth to keep it dry and open and it hurts)To make them: After impresions...only a week or 2.
The dentist will first make molds of your teeth and it will take a couple of weeks before they get them back from the lab. They then order the braces which take another week or two. . The new invisalign braces take much less time.

How long does the pain usually last after getting teeth pulled?
For some reason, I have TWO extra wisdom teeth. Along with that, one of my regualr wisdom teeth is growing in horizontally as opposed to vertically the way its supposed to. So in all, I have to get SIX teeth pulled. All my wisdom teeth and my two extras. I know its going to hurt afterward because last week I had to get some of my gums trimmed away from one of them and I'm STILL in pain. I just want to know HOW LONG the pain usually lasts and if there's any rinses or natural remedies that are safe to use to ease the pain until I 've recovered.
Answer:
well you are going to be in pain for at least 2 or 3 days.I say ask for a pain medication before you leave the dentist.Try Gargling in warm salt water ,Salt heals things up faster than you can imagine.Good Luck
If done right...it should only last a few days. Most dentists will prescribe pain killers to help with it.
hmm, about an hour, it's not really that painful, the pain comes when they inject anesthesia (sorry if misspelled)^^
First you should take some pain medicine before you go. Then eat soft food. I have had a tooth or 2 pulled before and it only lasted about 2 hours.

How long does opalescence tooth whitening gel last?
I got some from the dentist last year and never used it. I want to use it now and am wondering if it is still good or if it expires?
Thanks!
Answer:
This depends on whether or not you kept it in the refrigerator. If not, I'd assume the potency is down, but it's not going to hurt anything to use it other than the inconvenience. If it was me I'd give it a go since you've already paid for it. Good luck!
HELLO,READ THE PACKAGE. IT SHOULD BE WRITTEN THERE.
Thanks!

How long does one wait till eating after having a abscess tooth removed?
Answer:
Once the bleeding has stopped you can eat. You will need to eat soft foods, on the opposite side of the extraction. If you are still numb wait until it has worn off. If you eat while you are still numb you can bite your cheek, tongue etc.
do not drink through a straw, the sucking can dislodge the blood clot and cause a dry socket (infection in the bone) also to not rinse vigorously near the extraction site
Your dentist should have given you a list of dos and donts after you had the tooth removed. If not, just wait a few hors, the clot will have formed and you should be fine. Chew on the other side of your mouth. There may be heightened sensitivity to hot a cold for a little while.
30 MINUTES OR AT LEAST 1 HOUR
How long does one have to wear a retainer for?
Answer:
well, if your orthodontist hasn't told you.
my mum wore her retainer in the daytime for about 3 weeks and then wore it in the night for about 2 years!
make sure you do wear it otherwise, if you had braces the work of the braces would be pointless as your teeth would stick out again! (if that was the problem)
My sister wears hers in the night everyday!Hope I helped!! xxxxx
The retainer stays in until all affected teeth are properly positioned, to the dentists standards, of your mouth. One to two years.
The honest answer is.if you want your teeth to stay exactly as they are now...a minimum of alternate nights forever! If you have bonded-on retainers they need to be regularly checked by a dentist, because if they de-bond then your teeth will begin to move towards their orginal position. You have a beautiful smile now - look after it!
I had my braces taken off 5 years ago, and I still wear my top retainer every other night. That's only because there's a muscle between my 2 front teeth that keeps trying to push the gap back open.Honestly, it depends solely on your teeth. If they were in bad condition before you had the braces put on, then you may have to wear your retainer for about a year or two.
I have one and i have to have it for like a year or 2
Well has your orthodontist not told you how long?? they usually do. Basically it depends on what retainer you are fitted with. If it is a fixed one it will non removable. If it is a removable one typically you are expected to wear it all the time for the first six months (except for when eating and brushing your teeth of course), and then you will be expected to wear it only at night for the rest of your life. However you could probably just get away with wearing every other night after about a year. Some people will tell you they never wore their retainer and their teeth never moved back, however many people do experience some movement if they do not follow their orthodontist's instructions with regards to the wearing of their retainer, thus I suggest you wear your retainer as instructed - you don't want to be undoing the work the braces have done.As the name suggests a retainer's purpose is to retain the teeth in their new position.
well you normally have to were them for 3-6months all day every day but after that then its about 6months just at night but dont forget every bodys different so you may have to wear it for longer or shorter,
but if i was you i wud just ask ur dentist becos ther the 1 that shud deffantly know.good look and everything shud go ok :)
How long does my mouth hurt from a retainer?
Well today i went to get my braces off in the morning. my mouth didnt hurt it just felt weird because im so use to the braces. then i got my later in the day and now my mouth hurts.as long as i dont eat and dont take it out its ok. is it normal for my mouth to be bleeding how long does it hurt for?
Answer:
Your mouth shouldn't be bleeding from a retainer. It's probably poking or rubbing where it shouldn't be- call your ortho in the morning and let them know what's going on so they can see you and adjust it.
How long will your retainer hurt? Well, if it's moving your teeth, probalby about the same amount of time your teeth typically hurt after getting your braces tightened.
Words of wisdom- don't ever stop wearing your retainers! Even once you don't have to wear them all day, or even everyday, you should definitely wear them at night even when you're older. Atleast wear them once a week or so after the first year or two, cuz your teeth can still move! About 4 years after I got my braces off, I stopped wearing my retainer and after a few months, they didn't fit anymore:o( Now I need braces again. grr
The pain should subside within 24 hours. Keep wearing those retainers as directed by your Orthodontist. Bleeding is common for the first couple of days because the tissue maybe swollen or aggravated by the removal of the braces. Get an appointment with your regular dentist as soon as possible to get a really good cleaning now that all that hardware is off, and that will also get the gums back in order quicker.

How long does it take to heal from tooth extraction?
Answer:
As far as pain, you should start noticing a reduction of pain in 4-5 days after the extraction itself. Keep taking any prescribed antibiotics and pain medication your dentist may have ordered for you. As far as how long it takes for the site to heal depends on several different factors (ex: how complicated the extraction was etc.) but most patients take several weeks to several months for the gums to completely heal and for the site to close. You may always feel a small indentation on the area where the tooth was extracted, but without problems (dry socket) you should start beginning the healing process very soon. As always if you have any questions or prolonged pain, contact your regular dentist as soon as possible.
When i had my teeth pulled it took about a week to totally heal but i felt better after 2 days.
I hope this helps.
a couple of days ...not long
You usually will feel some discomfort (not much but some) for a couple of days.. what is important is to remember that there will be a blood clot that will form in the gum where the tooth is extracted from.. it is very important that the clot remain in place.. it is what helps the gum heal by sealing off the openning.. if you were to dislodge the clot by mouth wash or some other means.. then you could cause yourself a lot of pain.. it is called a dry socket or a non bleeding socket.. buddy that hurts bad.. I am sure your dentist will explain all that to you.. just take it easy for a few days and you will be fine.. good luck. Oh and if you have some discomfort.. it is okay to eat some ice cream.. it is very relieving.. good luck
How long does it take to get your teeth tighten [ i have braces] only top. and how does it feel?
Answer:
i have braces,,, im actually getting them off next week!... but its not too bad
it takes about a half hour to tighten.. mayb less becuase you are only doing top. the feeling isnt too bad. I would take an advil or something right before you go or as you leave the office. It does hurt... but not too bad. If its you first time you will probably think it hurts and feels strange. Its a weird kind of pain. But I promise, me having them 4 years, that after a while you will soon get used to it!
Well for me never and I got my top done like 2 weeks ago. And had an appointment this morning no tighten or wires needed to be cut. I have the Damon or Vita brackets. Which speed up the treatment. Got the rubber bands put on this morning it hurt. So for what I hear please take some kind of pain pills when you go to get them tighten. My cousin the first time she felt like crap hurt for a few days and now she take Tylenol before dentist appointment.
Yeah, Iit only takes about 15 minutes to tighten just the top. It hurts a little bit afterwards but it doesn't hurt while they are doing it. Take an advil or something before you go...it really helps.
How long does it take to become a dentist in Texas?
Answer:
You need to go to college, take the pre-dental courses, take the DAT exam, apply, get into and finish dental school. All told, usually 8 years (4 years college, 4 years dental school). There are 7-year combined BA/DDS programs around the country that lets you shave a year off though.Hope this helps.
Same amount of time it takes to become a dentist everywhere else. Undergraduate work (at least 3 years, unless you go to a combined BA/DDS program which is 6 years), then 4 years of dental school.
How long does it take the pain to stop after you get braces?
I just got braces yesterday and its been a roll coaster I thought I PASSED all the real pain with the spacers, now im having trouble eating and sleeping. I have been taking tynoel like some people suggested but it doesnt seem to work, I can not take midol yet because I had a procedure in my mouth done and my doctor said it could cause me to bleed. So my question is how long does it take for the pain to stop/reduce after getting the braces done? After I start getting them tighten how long is it going to take then too? Thanks so much for your help and consideration it is greatly needed!
Answer:
You should take Advil or Motrin for your dental discomfort and the inflammation, this should be used when you have adjustments made through out your ortho treatment. It will take several days for you to get comfortable with them, keep in mind the teeth are moving even right now. This is why you are having pain, all of your teeth are being loosened. You will get used to them, it's a whole lot of new stuff in your mouth so give your self time to adjust. Drink and eat cold things, this will help to numb your mouth and ease the soreness. In a few days slowly start adding foods back into your diet, softer ones to start. Always cut your food into bite size pieces so you don't pop brackets off biting into these foods. Most importantly, don't neglect brushing and flossing. I know it hurts right now, but if you don't maintain good hygiene, your gums will hurt worse later. It will get better and easier in a few days, try to relax and switch to the Ibuprofen, it does much better for orthodontic pain. Good luck!
Do not worry. I have had my braces 3 years now and the pain has almost gone away completely.
It takes about 5 days after you get braces for the pain to stop. After you get them tightened, it will take about 3 days.
eh not long...just take some advil if the pain is to much...you will be fine though...
oh...sucks to be you! It took me a week before the pain left, and about 2 days after they tightened them. I'm so so sorry!
Oh yeah, don't worry about it. For me, after I got them on or tightened it took around 2 days till I could eat normal food and for the pain to mainly leave, and then a few more days until I didn't notice it anymore. You'll get used to the routine
I had the spacer for my top jaw which hurt every time I turned it (twice a day) for about two hours. Then I had the little rubber bands between my teeth which didn't hurt so much as they felt like pieces of steak stuck in my gums. (I quickly learned how to pop those out with my tongue. ;)The braces themselves didn't hurt my jaw as much as they ripped up the inside of my mouth. There's a wax putty you can get to cover the brackets and help with that. For jaw pain associated with tightening, try jaw stretches (ask a chiropractor for a demo), ice or ice cream or another cold food or drink, and taking the Tylenol BEFORE your appointment so it has a chance to kick in before they get tightened. If the pain is that intense that none of these helps, insist your doctor address your pain issue immediately.
I had them when I was younger. They hurt for about a week (I ate lots of burritos and soup) then they would get better. What I hated was going through it each month. But, I would do it all over again (my teeth were very very bad). After a while you kind of get used to it. The very first week you get them on is the worst. So look at the bright side, the worst part is almost over. (P.S. Don't get in a fight. I did and my lips were hamburger - not to mention the other guy's hand)
2 weeks for me. 1-2 weeks is the average but it really depends on the strength of your braces and how bad your bite is and whatnot. You will get used to it some 1-3 days later, but it will still hurt. Eat soft foods like applesauce, pudding, yogurt, jook, soup, and anything that does not require chewing, cutting with the teeth. After that, it will not hurt, and you'll be back to normal. If it does, see your orthrodontist. There may be something wrong with your wire or bracket (braces in general really).
It takes 2 or 3 days for the pain to go away first. But eat, even if it hurts the next day thepain will be less.
And I had mine tightened today, had my braces nearly a year now and it doesnt hurt anymore.
They just feel looser, because they are moving. And after you get them tightened again it will be a day or so before they are back to normal.

How long does it take gums to heal after having 8 extractions up top ?
Answer:
Healing time is different from person to person, but for your gums to completely heal from extraction can take several months and even then you may have a slight indentation there forever. Just follow your dentists orders and should you develop any problems let him/her know. As always keep rinsing your mouth with warm salty water, this will help keep food debris out of the extraction site and also prevent any infection. Good luck!
You should stop bleeding in several hours, only slight oozing for the next day or two. You should be able to eat what you feel comfortable with as soon as possible. Start with soft food for the first week. It shouldn't hurt any more after about a week. Most people are healed enough to take impressions for a denture after about 6 weeks.but then again... i didn't pass wreb
How long does it take for your tooth to grow back?
I wanted to know if anybody knows how long does it take or a average time?
Answer:
Teeth do not grow back unless your talking about baby teeth which are already coming in that's why you lost the other tooth in the first place.
If you are older than 10 your teeth are not gonna grow back.
Teeth don't grow back. If they're gone, they're gone. That's why people have dentures.
A tooth doesn't grow back. Human beings have two sets of teeth. The baby teeth, which you lose so the adult teeth can come in. You usually have all of your adult teeth by the time you are a teenager.
I hope it was just a baby tooth because the permanent ones don't grow back !
9 months
well that depends if your an adult then u never grow any teeth back duh :P if your just a kid then say about month
Teeth don't "grow back".
Are you still young? Did you lose a tooth *baby tooth*?
If that is the case, your new tooth should be growing in within the next 6 months, I would say.
If you lost one of your adult teeth, it will not be coming back.
Sayonora!
Yikes. Hoping you are in 2nd grade! Adult teeth don't grow back. It's pretty hard to get your adult teeth to fall out if you have acceptable hygiene, and are not in the mob...One has to wonder how you lost an adult tooth? :-) Good luck.

How long does it take for stiches to disolve?
Answer:
Depends on several factors... the location of the stitches, what kind of stitches etc. Ask your Doctor to find out when yours either need to be removed or when they will disolve.
3 to 6 days
Varies...3 days to 3 weeks.
my son's took about a week...but I think it depends on the type
I had some implants put in May 22. The stitches started coming out Thursday May 31, and are all gone now. It took a couple of days for them all to fall out.
Well if they are chromic gut or something similar they take around 3-6 days. If it is vicryl it could take weeks.
Usually it takes 7 to 10 days.
How long does it take for orthodontic braces to close the gaps between the teeth?
I've been in braces since January and my gap in the front-top is just about closed. How much longer do I have to wait?
Answer:
It depends people who are young, there teeth move faster. I'm 18 and i've had braces for 6 months and they have made big difference already! Before my braces on my bottom teeth i had one tooth sitting directly behind one of my other tooth. In those 6 months the braces have sepereted my teeth and aligned the tooth beside them so they are straight!
I have a retainer on my top teeth and i'm supposed to be getting the fixed ones on. The 2nd last time i was up the dentist said it would be another 4 months before i got the top ones on but the last time i went up he was shocked at how fast my teeth were moving and said i'll probably get the top fixed brace within the next month. So really it depends upon the person!
How long did they feel you were going to be in braces?
It is more then just closing the gap they have to make sure your bite grows together as well as it can and you have wonderful alignment. Most braces are 12-36 months. Just call and ask them.
You are paying a nice price for them they should be there for your every question!!
depends also on your age if your young in teens to twenties takes about 1-2 years if your older late twenties and up takes longer up to 3 yrs

How long does it take for me to fully recover from getting my wisdom teeth removed?
How long does it take for me to fully recover from my wisdom teeth removal. i wanna know, cuz i wanna get back to football training and it seems like its taking forever. its been 6 days.
Answer:
All together.about 4-5 days. It's a very common procedure and the body recovers well from it. Just be sure to listen to all the instructions the dentist gives you and follow them exactly!.If you don't, there are risks..Like getting dry root..which is more painful then having the wisdom teeth themselves.
You'll never get your wisdom back! Tsk Tsk, sorry: Hee Hee
Depends on age and how impacted they were. Just be patient and don't get too training too soon especially with weights. They will increase your blood presure too much and delay healing.
Any day now you should be good to go. Actually, I'm surprised you are unable to at this point, if you had impacted teeth, you may be looking at another week or ten days.
An oral surgeon would probably advised you to get a full rest of 7 days. Avoid strenous activity during the first week or the wound where the impacted teeth were removed may bleed.

How long does it take for a dentist/orthodontist to put braces on you?
Answer:
About two hours and it depends on your type of braces too, because some of them take longer to wire. The invisible braces or the clear ones take a little longer than the basic ones. Also...it depends on if you have rubber bands for you braces, that takes longer too. But all together it should roughly be about two hours.Also..if you are a girl, maybe even a guy, you might wanna put chap-stick because your mouth is gonna be open for that long. Also..take an aspirin or ibuprofen ahead of time because it'll hurt after.
an hour or 2
It depends on how many of your teeth need braces.
the whole appointment is usually about 2 hours
Depends on his skills.
about 10 minutes if you brushed your teeth and have no waiting time but closer to an hour if you have to wait to get called on, brush your teeth, get the 10 minutes of putting the stuff on and whatever else happens
i had a consultationmy dentist told me 1 hour braces plus tooth removel
he said it doesnt take long at all
Probably about an hour or so.. depending if you are getting them for the first time or not. When you go get your bands changed it can take up to 30 minutes depending on how many, where .. and the person doing them. I had braces for about 6 years so I remember well.
About two hours
I just got on braces a 6 months ago, for the usual appointment it will take 1 1/2 hour. The whole experience is painless but the glue they put in your mouth is pretty bad tasting. Although your teeth will hurt after a day or two, Advil is the solution!
Good Luck!
They took 2 hours on mine... and they had some trouble with one bracket and the bottom wire... and apparently i have an abormal amount of saliva! haha
wow i am really surprised at all the answers. Mine only took about 30 minutes to put all the braces on my teeth.
My appointment to actually have them put on was 30 minutes start to finish.
How long does it take for a cavity to form?
When can it be first detected?
Answer:
It can be pretty quick depending on what eating, drinking and dental homecare habits you have. I typically take x-rays on my patients every 12 to 18 months to check for cavities. I have however seen patients that ate alot of altoid candies that got cavities quick. Each time you eat something with sugar in it and your mouth breaks it down you have acid in your mouth for about 20 minutes. If you eat 1 altoid (or sip soda)every 1/2 hour it means you could have 40 minutes of acid eating your teeth for each hour. That can bring on cavities quick!
Hope that helps!
JAMRDH - a dental hygienist
There acute, it just happend you can catch them when there very small. By you, i mean the dentist. There's no guideline except to good oral hyigene to avoid cavities. Its not like if you dont brush with 3 days you get a cavity.

How long does it take a tooth to develop a 4 millimeter deep pin type hole cavity into it at the gumline?
If you had a dental checkup, several including cleanings and fillings with xrays done, should a reasonable dentist have caught that? It was on the middle outside of molar #31.
Answer:
Usually these types of small cavities, start in what are call pits and fissures. They are tiny pin sized depressions and grooves in a tooth. Even though radiographs are taken, they can be very misleading on a radiograph.
It all depends on how much sugar you have in your mouth and how the sugar stayed in your mouth before you brushed your teeth. When sugar enters your mouth it changes the normal pH of cariogenic plaque from 7 to 5 within in minutes, with more than a 100 fold increase in the acidity of the plaque, the calcium phosphate of teeth dissolves, therein causing your cavity.
You're going to sue because YOU got a cavity. Good luck finding a lawyer to take that one. I'm sure you'll make a small fortune. LOL !!!
It's sad what America is coming to. Everything is always somebody else's fault. Was the dentist supposed to come to your house and brush your teeth for you? LOL

How long does it take a dry socket to heal?
I got all for wisdom teeth removed on Fri. and ended up with one dry socket last night. Based on everyones experience, how long does it take for the dry socket to heal up?
Answer:
Hmm my gums stopped bleeding by the end of the day and stopped hurting by the next day.
hello
at least dry up in stop bleeding
the same day. completely healed in 10 dys.
i have implants i know.
best
About a week.
A dry socket ( otherwise known as alveolar osteitis)is thought to be due to loss of the clot in the socket resulting in a localized osteitis. The pain usually starts 2 to 3 days after the extraction and will continue for up to 2 weeks. The dentist has the option to pack the socket with a number of medicaments which will burn the terminal nerve endings resulting in relief of the pain . This is short lived and the pain will return in a day or two necessitating a trip back to repack the socket until healing has occured.
It should heal in 2-3 weeks, especially fi you go back and get appropriate treatment from your dentist.

How long does dental bonding normally last if u take real good care of it? thanks?
Answer:
As a dental assistant a bonding should last you about 10 to 15 years.
hmm..but can be 7 years atleast
If you visit your dentist regularly, and take excellent care of all of your teeth, not just the bonded tooth, then you can expect a normal composite resin bond to last up to 15 years, give or take. Of course, each case is different, but most last at least 10 years. If you subject your teeth, and namely the bonded tooth, to excessively hard foods, and undue stress, then the chances that it will chip/break/stain will increase. As with all your teeth, you want to avoid trying to chew on very hard foods, like ice, pistachios, jaw-breakers, etc. And of course stay away from sugary foods, smoking, etc.So if you take excellent care of your teeth, and see your dentist at least twice yearly, you can expect your bonding to last at 'least' 10 years, and perhaps even more.
location is key. resins in the front take less force and are more subject to degradation by acids (coffee, pop, certain foods, etc) that can fail the edges causing leakage. resins in the back must endure excessive forces from clenching /chewing that can again cause the edges to open and fail. i don't know anyone that "warranties" a resin and would be hesitant to "expect" anything to last over ten years. that being said the resins placed today have better properties (bond strenth, thermal expansion, shrinkage coefficient) than ones placed three years ago so it's hard to say.
How long does a root canal/crown last?
I'm having this done pretty soon and getting nervous. I had a friend tell me that after 5 years (roundabout) that the tooth will probably go bad and it will have to be pulled anyway. Did she just have a bad dentist or what? I'm assuming follow up care has something to do with how it works out for the individual. am I right?
Answer:
Well, this is a good question with no really good answer. First of all, you are dealing with the body's ability to heal things around the end of the tooth root and to keep it healed. Second, you have yourself taking care of a tooth which still can decay or break. I have a root canal and crown that has been on for almost 30 years with no problem but in my practice, I have seen others who have lost teeth after as little as 1-2 years [fortunately, none of which I initiated care on]. A lot depends on the skill of the practitioner but in any case it's worth the risk as the alternative is not as good by any means.
There are diff materials to choose from. I got the silver mix crown and so far 7 years, no chips, no staining. I also got two gold mix and also no problems. The doc says there's no approx time for each. And she can't really give a figure because it depends on the factors you mentioned. But she said at least 5 years. It has to do with maintenance also. Like cleanings, being careful with what you eat, floss, brush, etc. I try not to use that are of my mouth to eat hard foods but if I forget, nothing happens. But I guess for long term not so good, lol. Good luck!
I've had it for 7 years and doc said it's in good shape. Never heard of having it pulled after a root canal. My mom had a root canal done 15 years ago, still has a crown on it, no prob. Maybe if there was an infection or decay at the margin (where the crown and tooth meet) but brushing/flossing and reg cleanings helps.
at the least 5 years at most 20 years

How long does a cavity have to be there before they need to extract the tooth?
I've got a cavity in one of my back molars and have arranged an emergency appointment with my dentist this week. the thing is I think it's quite large as it's visible but I don't have tooth ache. I've been putting it off because I hate the dentist (so so so stupid i know...so please don't tell me again!!) do you think they're going to have to extract the tooth?
Answer:
More than likely that tooth will have to go. Pain is only an indication when the infection can't find a way out. We have seen people with rotted teeth to the gumline, or broken off at the gumline and no pain, I can't explain why there is no pain. If you have a visible hole and have had it for a while...I think you already know, bacteria and decay just sit in there and rot out the existing tooth structure that is left. Have the tooth extracted, you could get lucky and find out that the cavity isn't that bad, but the longer you wait the less chance the outcome will be in your favor. Find a new dentist if you are not happy with the one you have now.
if they need to pull the tooth, u really need to go to the dentist more
Until the pain is more then you can handle, then the tooth has to go
until the dentist says so.
It's got to be pretty bad. You might be looking at a root canal / crown if it's big.
the cavity can be there for years! my motto is if it doesn't hurt don't go to the dentist!i think they are rip-offs i know so many people who have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on their teeth and then lost them anyway as they got older.
probaly but they might be able to fill it with metal! or a silicone based serum!
Honestly, the dentist will have to determine this. I have had a few very large cavities...and they were able to salvage the tooth. But, it depends on how large the cavity is and how much damage the tooth has taken (will it be able to support a filling...will you be able to use the tooth after it is reconstructed, and can it be reconstructe, will be the questions). I have had good and bad dentists in my life. Find yourself a good one. They are worth it. Seriously.
There is nothing to fear about going to the dentist in this day and age, when the needles in the pain stops, My father had all his teeth removed without anaesthetic in the 1930's. I too had a wisdom tooth removed without painkilling injections, now THAT hurts, Also bad teeth can poison your system so the longer you put off going to the dentist the worse the problem becomes

How Long Do You Have To Wear Retainers For?
i am getting my retainer in 3 weeks... how long will i have to wear it for?
Answer:
for me the first 3 months all day and night.after 3 months just at night...for the rest of my life.
im not kidding by the way. anyways, not a biggie if you get invasalign. its really hard to see them. lol
Unfortunately...forever if you want your teeth to stay the way they are. You'll want to wear it all the time for at least the first six months, then try just wearing it to bed. I had braces and was a dental hyg in the Army. I lost my retainer years ago and my teeth have shifted quite a bit.
I know it sounds like a drag but I just felt lucky to have had the braces at all. Wish I had never lost it. I would need braces all over again at this point.
Stick with it!!
I wore them day and night for 18 months. Then nightly forever or as long as I want to keep them from shifting, lol. =)
wear it for as long as your ortho advises you to.
get ready..for a long time. Day and night probably for a few months. I had braces for 4yrs. I had them taken off 11yrs ago and still have to wear them periodically to keep my teeth "perfect." KEEP UP WITH YOUR RETAINERS!!

How long do you have to wait to kiss after getting teeth pulled?
I got 1 wisdom tooth and 2 other teeth pulled yesterday at like 3PM. I have stitches but I was wondering how long do you have to wait to be able to start kissing and stuff like that or do you have to wait ?
Answer:
What is your ability to withstand pain? How bad would it be to bleed in their mouth?Good questions all.....
WOW, ARE YOU LIKE, DAMN
Till the Novicane wears off!
or till it doesn't hurt to kiss
I'd wait until your mouth was heeled.
i would wait until healed for your own safety ie germs and bacteria
well you might want to wait a day or two because your mouth could hurt after you get your teeth pulled.
right after i got 2 of mine pulled, it hurt to touch the gums around it..so just wait about a day or so!
I'm guessing until it heals or when the stitches start to dissolve.
you might wanna wait until it at least stops bleeding and the hole closes up, at least a week
I'd wait a few days to a week. You don't want extra germs in there! You can get an infection. Plus you should take it easy on your mouth. Your gums need to heal!
okay. I'd say until you stop hurting...? or you know, until you grow a brain.
You can always kiss a peck on the lips, you do not have to really get into it. What did your dentist say? You shouldn't suck through straws, so you shouldn't do anything that would create a suction that would mess your mouth up. Kisses on the cheeks are fine. You can hug, nothing wrong with hugging. I would wait to use a straw until your mouth is healed. Ask your dentist. Are your stitches going to dissolve? Or do you have to have them taken out? Either way wait until they are gone. No sucking anything for a couple of weeks or until you are healed.
this is the most stupidest ?
HELLO
WASH YOUR MOUTH WITH WATER.
IF THERE IS NO MORE BLOOD.
THEN U CAN KISS.
BYE BYE
The awfull truth.. your breath might smell a bit. Sometimes the healing process involves a bit of a "pong". It is normal. Give your gums time to heal. Rinse your mouth with lightly salted water. It is a great antiseptic and will help speed up the healing process.
Kat i had two teeth filled today and i ain't kissing no one today
A light peck with light puckering might be okay. Depends on how much pain your are or how much bleeding. Open mouth kissing or anything else might have to wait for at least 3 days. Because you don't want to suck out the stitches or the clots. Then you'll be in pain and really won't want to or can kiss. =) Have your love one kiss you instead everywhere else and you take some time off. Good luck!

How long do you have to wait to get your wisdom teeth removed?
They hurt a bunch and the gum swells something horrible so I'm guessing that they are probably still coming in. However, they are pushing my other teeth out of place. Do I have to wait until they come ALL the way in?
Answer:
No you shouldn't wait. If they are not coming in straight and are not only causing you pain but pushing your other teeth out of alignment you will have more problems leaving them in. Another reason to not wait for them to completely erupt is if they do so then it will actually be harder and more painful to remove them later not to mention more expensive.
sooner the better.
it all depends on the person. most people about 18 years, but i got mine out at 14! Some people dont even need them out. the best thing to do is ask your dentist.
you should not wait, as you get older they start to fuse to your jawbone or other issues, go to the dentist ASAP.
no once they are about to come out but no puncturing of the skin the dentists will talk about them being removed, sometimes they are removed later
You need to get to a dentist and let him x-ray your mouth. You may need to have them surgically taken out. Everyone's wisdom teeth come in different. But if they are messing up your other teeth, you may need to have them removed!
No, you do not. The dentist can surgically remove them, usually right there in the office. However, if you have an infectin, your dentist may want you to take a round of antibiotics before taking them out to help clear up any infection. He will provide you with pain medication during that time, so you won't hurt so bad. Be sure and talk with your dentist and have a good checkup so he can check them out. Good luck! (and use the gas!)
No, you don't need to wait until they're all the way in. My wisdom teeth aren't even starting to come up yet and I'm already scheduled to get them out. If they're painful and crowding out your other teeth you should see a dentist or orthodontist soon. They'll probably decide to take them out. Don't wait if you're in pain!
yes you have to wait til they are all the way in then get them pulled mine had an umbrella root on the lower jaw, but i had my two top ones pulled when they were all the way in.

How Long Do You Brush Your Teeth For?
Answer:
Two minutes twice a day.
A few mins.
Well I brush my teeth after every meal, unless I am at school. I also floss. But i spend about 2 minutes brushing my teeth.
Honestly..probably for 1-1/2 minutes. I know you are supposed to brush for 3 minutes but that really seems like a long time!!
for at least 2 minutes twice a day in the morning after breakfast and right before you go to bed, also if u r going to make a good impression on some one that you should brush your teeth for things like that
3 minutes while the shampoo sits in my hair lol i brush mine in the shower to save time
Maximum for five minutes but,
I follow "an apple a day keeps the doctor away"...
:-)
5 mins. morning and before bed, and 2 mins after lunch
As a Dentist we always recommend brushing your teeth atleast twice per day for two minutes.
How long do u brush ur teeth for?
me like 1min...apparently u r supose to for like 3mins but if i do i get bleeding gum...and whats the point if they already feel clean...im only 12 so dont say see a doctor or stuff
Answer:
I personally use Listerine whitening rinse for 1 min then brush for at least 2 min followed by Listerine Tooth Defense mouthwash for a min. I do this in the morning after breakfast and right before bed. I also floss before bed. I just brush for at least 2 min after lunch. Make sure to use a anti-cavity/gingivitis toothpaste and do not eat or drink anything for 30 minutes after brushing. That just removes the flouride that the toothpaste applies to stregthen your teeth and protect against plaque.
20 mins .4 to 5 times a day
Dentists say 1-3 minutes. Health officials say for 30 seconds. It's better to just floss, brush, rinse, and mouth wash at least twice a day in your own time.
hi! im 13. i brush my teeth for about 4 minutes. it's really how you do it, avoid the gums and brush your teeth coz 80% of bacteria is on there - did you know?! and also, thats where all the bad odour hangs, so brush the tongue with the bristles. and use a strong whiterner
brush your teeth for 3-5 minutes to make sure the teeth are really clean. even if they feel clean, the bacteria is still clinging to the the teeth, gums and inside the cheeks.if I were you, I would make it a habbit to brush your teeth at least twice a day to save yourself from toothaches and other teeth problems. believe me there is no worse pain than having a toothache.-michelle

I brush my teeth for 2 mins. The reason they say 3 mins is because that way you can clean all of your teeth well. Some dentists say 2 mins which is more realistic. Even if they feel clean it doesn't make them clean. For example if you didn't wash your feet for a day and they were covered in dust you wouldn't feel the dust and you would feel clean, but in reality you are dirty. Thats why you should try to brush your teeth for about 2 mins wherever possible. Also mouthwash helps to clean your gums and flossing can help to stop decay and toothaches.
if i were you i would buy a sonic care toothbush, not the video game, it has a timer on it to let you know when to switch between front, back, top, bottom teeth, been using one for four years now and no cavaties or anything, the dentist was really impressed how well my teeth were clean, also use listerine mouth wash.
I'm 21 and I never used to brush my teeth regularly so you already have me beat on that, but my gums would bleed every time. I learned that the bleeding is caused by gingivitis which is plaque underneath your gums. The way I got rid of it was brushing my gums a lot; I mean I went from brushing maybe twice a week to twice a day for about five to ten minutes each time. Now my teeth are bright and no longer bleed and I'm smiling more! I found that it helps to have a soft bristled toothbrush and flavoured toothpaste because personally I can't stand the taste of it.
2 minutes and you should see a dentist
1 minute should be long enough. Over brushing will remove the enamel coating on your teeth over time. It is important to brush close to your gums, as plaque builds up there. Bleeding gums is usually a symptom of vitamin deficiency or over brushing. You should see a dentist while you are young. It will save you big$ when you get older.
30 secs would be plenty. you should also brush your tongue and your cheek cause thats where the bacteria are that cause bad breath. the inside of your cheek that is. ask your mom to get you some mouthwash that changes color when it is on plaque.

How long do tooth extractions take?
I have to get 6 teeth extracted Monday.
Two top wisdom teeth...one of which is broken.
And the rest molars, all on the top. One of which is broken to the gum line. The other ones are just chipped teeth.
Does anyone have a clue as to how long I might be sitting in that dentist chair?I am only using numbing. I am not getting knocked out, I'd rather stay awake. The only reason I ask is because I have a bit of an anxiety problem, and would like to know what I have to look forward to.I also plan on asking the dentist, but I'd like to see if I can get any thoughts now. Thanks in advance to all who answer!
Answer:
Upper-jaw extractions are usually pretty quick, the reason being our maxillary bone is spongy. It's usually the lower-jaw teeth that gives the dentist a hard time because our mandibles have very dense bone. Also, the spongy nature of our maxillary bone means that it's EASY to numb. You will get some infiltration injections of lidocaine in the vestibules, plus possibly a greater palatine or incisive injection, and you will be completely numb up there. You will not feel any pain at all.The dentist will use elevators to loosen the teeth, and once loosened it may be removed with forceps. Since you are getting 6 teeth removed at once, the dentist will most likely put in sutures to close the sites as much as possible to promote proper healing.I'm sure you will do fine, and good luck!
it takes about 3-5 min per tetth so it will be about 20 min it will be kinda painfull and grose but it will only be 4 a day or 2 :)
THEY USUALLY Take about 8-10 each but you have to be there early so they can give you some pills and antibiotics
I know this isn't answering your question, but when you have 6 teeth to extract and you have an anxiety problem, your best bet is to get knocked out. That way you don't have to worry how long it takes. Just sitting in the chair for too long can cause anxiety in a person who has an issue with that to begin with.
To answer your question the length of time it takes to extract a tooth depends on how loose the tooth is to begin with. A normal extraction could take about 45 minutes per tooth. Given that you have broken/chipped teeth there is a possibility that they may already be somewhat loose so maybe not too long. Honestly, I have never heard of a dentist doing 6 teeth at once. It's usually too much at one time for a patient to endure. But please, if you are getting all 6 done at once, make it easy on yourself and get knocked out. Good Luck!
The ones that are chipped will be extracted much faster than the ones that are broken. Depending on teh severity of the crack, the wisdom teeth could take 45 minutes to be extracted. The chipped molars won't take nearly that long.
I suggest that you get knocked out, i understand that wasn't your question, but an anxiety problem plus that long in the chair equals that you should get knocked out.It would probably help to buy some tylenol in case you're out, as your gums will be swelled and in a wee bit of pain after the extraction.
Hope that helped.
I something like this done to me.
I don't think it took that long, no more than 20 minutes ( not counting the time it took for the pain med to kick in )
What I thought was the worst part was I think I got stuck about 3 times with the needle (2 shots.)
If i have to do this again I want to be knocked out.
If you have dental insurance most do not cover the gas they use to knock you out.
I hope this Dentist is also a Oral Surgeon many complications can occur if just a dentist does it. The difference? to be a Oral Surgeon you must take a extra four years of school. Not to mention he will most definitely cut your pain down dramatically and help you heal much quickerI also would recommend being "knocked" out for that many teeth. Its not bad at all. However, some insurance (if you have any) will not pay for being put under. It can be very difficult to take out a tooth that was broken.
hope this helps some,
Good Luck
many blessings,
Jen
It will be quick, maybe an hour or two. Its not going to take long because they are broken already.
Generally you will need about 20 to 30 mins for the Novacaine to kick in. The actually extraction will take about 1 minute or less per tooth. There will be little to no pain but there will be some bleeding. Don't be scared.
i to hate dentists it took me ages to go due to a broken molar,it was completely under the gum but i finally went and now i feel loads better,i was really worried about it but honestly it was nothing i had about 3 injections to numb the pain then she got what looked like a screwdriver and put it at the side of were my tooth was pressed down really really hard and lifted it up and out in 2 pieces it took literally 2 mins to do then she sent me home bleeding, but i havent hadf no probs wit it it hasnt hurt at all and is now nearly closed up 2 wks l8er.honestly fillings hurt more than that did and i dont have very high pain tolerance, good luck

How long do I wait to eat or drink after a cavity is filled?
Just got 2 cavities filled, forgot to ask the dentist how long to wait before eating or drinking afterwards! Just need a quick answer, thanks!!
Answer:
Usually about an hour. You CAN eat solid food, just stay aeay from anything really sticky like gum and candy because you run the chance of whatever your chewing to pull the filling out. Also, dentist will usually always tell you to wait until the numbness wears off so as not to bite your tounge and cheeks. Common sense to most, but you'd be surprised! =)
About an hour
Did they freeze you? If so, I would wait until the freezing is gone. If they didn't freeze you, then you can eat right away.
I would wait a day before eating anything solid. but eat things you don't really need to chew like jello, milkshakes, those kind of things.
It depends on the material used in the filling. If it is a resin composite (tooth-colored) filling, you can eat as soon as the anesthetic wears off.If it is a silver amalgam, it needs at least 24 hours to completely harden and set.Hope this helps.
My doc tells me to brush and eat gently on the area for 24 hours. But I've eaten reg food and nothing happens. And I eat about an hour after. Good luck!

How long do I have to worry about clot dislodging after extraction?
I had an extraction and bone graft done Wednesday afternoon, it is now Sunday night, no pain, no discomfort, do I still need to worry about the clot I keep reading about can lead to dry socket if dislodged? Can I be in peace now knowing I'm past that stage or do I need to still be cautious about anything dislodging?
Answer:
You should be ok now. Make sure you rinse your mouth with warm salt water...helps with healing. Try not to gargle really hard if it's still painful. Brush your teeth on the side where they didn't do anything to keep that are clean, until it's comfortable to brush the rest of your teeth. You can brush the treated side lightly to remove some food particles on the tooth surfaces. If there's any food lodged inside the gums and you can't remove it, do not try to pick it out. Try gargling on that area to remove it. Your dentist should've scheduled a follow up check up for you already (this week) so that they can check how you're healing. Hope this helps.

How long do I have to wait to take out my lip ring during school?
I've recently convinced my dad that i can get a lip ring in a few weeks and the only problem now is that my nazi school won't let me have it in during class. I have all summer (June 1 to Aug. 23) to leave it in, but come the end of august, i'm going to need to take it out from 8:05 until 2:30. Is this going to work? Does anyone have any imput?
Answer:
You'll be fine! I work at a high school we let kids wear them unless they are sharp etc but i know kids that leave them out for a day or more and from June to Aug your hole will stay open during the day just put whatever you are wearing in after school
My input would be to NOT do it.It can cause a lot of problems with your teeth and gums, not to mention your lip. Get your nose pierced, get your eyebrow pierced, get a tattoo, or get a wild haircut. But I'd stay away from piercing anything near or in your mouth.

How long do i have to have retainers?
I've got fixed braces for 3 years can you tell me how long i will have to wears retainers for after roughly.
Thanx
Answer:
You want to wear them forever!! Continuing use of the retainers will guarantee that your teeth won't move. If you have a bite plate retainer (usually pink with metal loops) then they will also protect your teeth if you ever grind your teeth. You should wear the retainers every night and then eventually you can wear them a few nights a week to make sure they still fit. I would wear them every night for about 2 years. If you are very stressed you can wear them more often because they help save your teeth!
Its normally all the time for the first year then just at night after that.
it just deppends on how your teeth are formed!
The longer the better , that way the teeth will stay straight for u for good.
really...forever...oyu should get the permanent ones on the bottom...then you only have to worry about the top retainers at nitee...thats what i did...trust me...ive had it like this for years... =]
Best to ask your Ortho. But I had braces for 2 1/2 years and wore my retainers day and night for a year. The switch to nightly. I'll have to do this forever if I want to keep my teeth from shifting. Good luck!

How long do gums stay swollen after your bottom teeth are removed?
Answer:
Everyone heals differently but it should be a few days.
I can only speak for wisdom teeth, I guess about a few days. It heals surprisingly fast, of course you will have to eat soft foods for a few weeks so you don't reopen the wound
about 3 days
It depends on how long you body takes to heal usually it takes up to a month before the hole starts to close up, the swelling will take about two weeks. It helps to rinse your mouth with warm salt water.
I had some molars pulled not long ago. Three together and
all at the same time. I don't know if I'll do that again, as it took
much longer than having a tooth pulled once. It took me about
three weeks or longer for the swelling to go back down. And
the area next to the extraction area was also swollen and it
affected the front teeth, where they were very sore as well.
Hopefully I can avoid multiple extractions in the future. I am
a Diabetic and may now have trouble with healing factors.
In the past, I was healing by my very next day and was back
to normal in about a week.
How long do antibiotics effectiveness last if placed on a shelf for a year.?
Answer:
They should be thrown 2 months later the date they were given.
I don't know if you were/are aware that when a Dr. prescribes antibiotics, you are supposed to take all of them and not have any leftover. When you don't complete the prescription, you run the risk of developing a secondary infection that will actually be more difficult to treat. As far as effectiveness and shelf life, medications have an expiration date printed on the package/bottle.
How long did you or will you have your braces?
Answer:
i had them for 2 years and 3 months
i had to get them twice, both times for 2 years because i didnt wear my retainer afterwards....wear the retainer!!!
some people are different depending on all your orthodontist wants to fix with your teeth. It can range anywhere from 1 1/2 years to makybe even 4 years. If he or she wants to fix your overbite, space for new tooth to come down, fix space or crookidness in teeth, and things like that it might take longer than if he or she just wants to close the gap. I hope ive helped. I had mine on for 2 1/2 years, my cousin had her's on for 3 years and my bro had his on for over a lil over a year
back when i had them, i was told roughly 16 months, but had to get a baby tooth taken out later on, so that bumped it up to about 2 years.
I had braces for eighteen months when I was 14, and they made my teeth look so good! If you have braces and don't like them, they're not as bad as people make out and when you have them taken off, you will miss them!
in approximation orthodontic treatment should last for 2 to 2 1/2 years depending on the severity of the case
when i had mine it was for 2 years
Have been given an estimate of 1 and a half years. Let's hope I get them off quicker than that.
I had to wear mines for about 2 1/2 years.
